shirts hung out to dry,
sleeves outstretched, winglike, as if
preparing for flight.


sweep of a curtain
velvet held back with thin rope –
whisking across glass.


soft feathers ruffle
fluttering, gaining pace, speed –
rising to explore.

    1. Oh, thank you! That was inspired by my present situation of a clothes frame on which said shirts are draped; the weather’s on the wrong side of hanging them outside and they’re not really machine-drier ones… Oh to have summer back.
