Another Notice

You guys might have noticed a bit of mayhem here recently. A while ago I drew up a weekly post schedule, and I was really pleased with it. Myself, too.

Only… I haven’t exactly stuck to it, and I’ve been semi-experimenting with things. Turns out I do in fact need a schedule to keep on track; I need consistency. For a blog that’s supposed to be heavily focused on creative writing – you know, my own goddamn original writing  –  there seems to me a remarkable lack of it. As far as I can see, there’s two or three days per week that I post a piece of fiction/poetry.

So. My New November Goals (it’s a thing I just created for myself, it’s like New Years’ goals but starting today because who has time to hang around for another five weeks?

I’m going to step away from this post and spend tomorrow plotting a new schedule. Third remodel this year, but the idea is to not waste hours staring at a blinky little cursor on a blank page. That’s how I learned to stop blogging entirely, and the habit I’m trying to build is one of blogging daily. I’m going to keep in place the three things that are already there; only, one of them is a fortnightly challenge. No, wait, I tell a lie. There are four in place! Okay, this makes me a bit happier about the new schedule.

I also think I’m going to have to post the schedule for you guys to read when it’s all honed to perfection. Motivation and all. I need to push myself, not just the pen. I have thirty million ideas stored over about five different places, so I don’t think I should run out any time soon.

Tomorrow, you get a poem as usual. I’ll stealth-sneak the completed schedule in later.
