Poetry 101 Rehab: Changes

when i
turned
and looked at you,
you
hallucinated magic.

the magic,
you said,
wrapped around my body
cloak-like;
it shimmered in my
hair
and shone in my
eyes.

silver and gold
welded together,
you thought,
some fascinating
new hybrid.

and in my
voice
you heard charm
and something
indefinable. to this day
it has gone
unnamed.

(you
dreamed
these changes under a
full moon)

and then dawn broke,
taking with it
the magic.
