i am the finder.
every so often
i come across you
quite by accident.
i never look for you:
i quit after
that one incident.
(you remember the one?
not easy to forget)
then again you’re not
easy to
forget.
you make patterns;
you are predictable and
lead me to you.
i don’t even have to try.
you are here
before i even begin looking.
we are not magnetized but
even the longest separation is
not a deterrent.
it continues like this
year in, year out
ad infinitum.
(could never be tired
of finding you)
but tell me –
when will you be the one
to find me?
Your poetry is unique, I kinda really like it.

Love this, very original and I really like the form you’ve used; random and emphasises the “by accident” part, like it’s been pieced together by accident.

Thanks! The randomness is something I’ve been playing with in my poems – I got bored of the super-strict pattern I was following. It’s a lot more fun and I think makes the poem more interesting.

You never really know if a person truly loves ou the same way you do love him/her…

Certainly true. I suppose you could invert that: you never really know if you love them the way they love you 😃

I guess most things can work from.either direction

True. Or, for another example, employment…

I adore the play around the concepts of seeking and finding and role switching between the seeker and the sought, the finder and the found… Whew, what a found poem!

Thanks! Who knows, maybe given a year or two the pattern will change so they’re always finding each other…

Congrats Sarah! You found a job! Most jobs come with probation, and confirmation later.
