A while ago I began to equate job-hunting to Zeno’s dichotomy paradox – the one where before you reach a destination, you have to get halfway there. Only before you get there, you have to get halfway. Basically, you have to get halfway to the halfway point, and multiply this a hundred times over. It’s written in some clever-looking equation, each fraction halving as it moves along.
This is job hunting, because before you get to the goal of a job, you have to go through various stages, and each stage brings you either closer or stops you where you are. I had that interview on Wednesday, but it’s come to nothing.
And tomorrow, you guys get a poem.
