Climate Controlling Me

I don’t know that I’d say the weather affects my mood. Not on a day-by-day basis.

Typically, for me, rain is happy and cheerful. Rain is pleasant and calm. I like watching the rain; I like stepping through over puddles of water and having an excuse to have a hot drink. I don’t know why – maybe it’s the prospect that after the rain, the weather will clear. A mini fresh start, so to speak.

Conversely, sunshine is irritating and irritable. It makes me headachey, and my eyes are sensitive enough that I need sunglasses. This can be troublesome since I wear prescription glasses anyway, and switching the pairs gets annoying. Sometimes the sun isn’t all that warming, and so I get annoyed a little bit more. I’ve also found that if it’s too cold you can warm up but if it’s too warm there’s only so much you can do.

This isn’t cut-and-dry though. Some sunny days I’ll be cheerful; some rainy days I’ll be irritable.
