A Remote With No Batteries

Does fast-forwarding to a certain date in my life mean missing out on what happens in between now and that date? Or does it mean experiencing all the time up until then at warp speed?

In either case, given the option, I’d refuse. I don’t want to miss out, and I don’t want to experience something at such a pace that I can’t enjoy it. What if I got some wonderful literary award, or something along those lines? I expect I’d want to live every minute of it, not a compressed, pale version.

So, I think I’ll skip that option. Life goes by fast enough without skipping bits and pieces.
