Thank You

My thank you is linked to yesterday’s prompt. If you missed it, my ‘Life in Six Words’ was a thank you dedication for my first novel.

So my thank-you today is to my parents. Thank you, Mum, for encouraging my writing and not making remarks about A Real Career. Thank you for getting interested in a creative-writing contest you hear advertised and then getting disappointed when you realise it’s a kids’ contest and thus I’m too old for it.

Thank you, Dad, for asking what I am going to do after I graduate and helping me find jobs you think I might like. Thank you for always being willing to do small things like polish my shoes for me, and for not nagging me about what choices I make.

And thank you both for not going on Internet rants.
